Klaus Mezzrole found its ways into our hands after doing a bit of research on the growing trend of mixologists(Fancy Bartenders) who are entering our Cannabis world.  One such person is Warren Bobrow a mixologist who has written six cocktail books, trained as a chef and brought his unique skill set to create the Klaus Brand

Creating drinks to make people feel good is part of Warren’s family lore.  His Grandfather Matthew Rosenhaus made his money selling Geritol in the 1950’s & 60’s before the Federal Trade Commission levied a huge fine for its “false and misleading claims”.  Fortunately for us today the Klaus Brand is laboratory tested.

One of Warren’s mixology books is “Cannabis Cocktails Mocktails and Tonics” which put him on the path to the cannabis world he primarily operates in today.   The Klaus Brand name came from his traveling gnome that to me looks similar to the gnome that pops up on the Amazing Race when a team wins a segment sponsored by Travelocity.  That is a fun show to watch with a good buzz.

What we tasted is the Mezzrole a Ready To Drink In A Can(RTD) that is Warren’s version of a rum cocktail known as the ti’ punch. The rum has been replaced with 10 milligrams of infused cannabis resin that comes from a strain called the “Hippie Crasher”. It comes in a 8oz can and sold in a 4-Pack. It has 16 Calories and less than 1g of sugar per can. Made from Carbonated water, Pickett’s ginger syrup(our favorite and created by our dear friend Jim Pickett who passed away way too early), French lime puree, rice vinegar and cannabis THC emulsion.

When brought up to the nose you get the lime presence and carbonization.  The ginger syrup fizz and lime presence makes it feel alive in your mouth.  The finish continues with a toasty ginger zing as it goes down the throat.  No synthetic taste which I hate with some RTD’s on the market.  It was made with quality natural ingredients.

Based upon your size and tolerance level you should start feeling a light rise in euphoria in around 5 to 15 minutes of full consumption of a can.

I drank my first can cold from the refrigerator and the second one with a large ice cube while watching a basketball game.  My team was winning so the experience overall was positive with some added exuberance.
